Kwerky Cottage at The Old Vicarage SY7 8AU
~ Two couples or a small group ~
Kwerky Cottage is a self-contained annex comprising the south wing of the main house. It is the oldest part of the building and is truly quirky. Entrance to it is via the garden room or sauna room, both leading in from the large garden at the back of the house.
At the heart of Kwerky Cottage is the kitchen-breakfast room (formerly the back kitchen). This contains a sink unit, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric cooker, microwave cooker, storage shelves
and table and chairs. In addition there are washing machines and tumble driers available by arrangement in the main house. Leading up from one corner of the kitchen breakfast room is an ancient door that opens into a boxed staircase leading to a landing bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Double doors lead into a further bright, sunny south-facing double bedroom. The
landing bedroom can also accommodate two additional members of the same family group on put-you-up beds.
From another corner of the kitchen breakfast room a door leads into a small lobby, on the left of which rises a small staircase leading into a second south-facing double bedroom.
On the further side of the lobby is the main shower room which also houses an infra-red sauna and leads out to the garden.
A further door in the kitchen breakfast room leads into the large garden room (18 x18 ft). This is part stone-built and contains a pine table and chairs (to seat six people), a flat
screen TV, a large futon and some easy chairs. The futon opens out into a further full size double bed. A sliding door leads out into the large south facing garden.
Kwerky cottage is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Children are welcome but please discuss your requirements with us before booking. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. Please notify us if you wish to bring one with you.
